Does Witcher 1 carry over to Witcher 2?
When starting a new game of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, you can import a saved game from The Witcher by selecting “New Game” then “Import Witcher 1 Save” from the main menu. Several choices, items, and a small amount of money are transferred to the sequel and are accessible at the start of the game.
Do choices in Witcher 1 affect Witcher 2?
Yes. But not a lot. (not a spoiler) For example if you did not side with the Order in Witcher 1 then they can potentialy become hostile to you. You also get nice starting gear if you had it at the nd of the first game like Raven’s armour and the swords.

But they aren’t connected story wise. Every game starts a new story. If you want to learn more about characters and how Geralt knows them then play them all but I haven’t seen that they are required. So just read the synopsis for The Witcher 1 before playing The Witcher 2.

Should I play Witcher 2 or 3 first?
Playing Witcher 2 first will only make you enjoy Witcher 3 more. Witcher 2 can be completed in about 15 hours so there really isn’t too much of a reason not to play it.

Choosing to simulate a Witcher 2 save will allow you to manually input the choices made in the previous game via a conversation with Morvran Voorhis during the main quest Imperial Audience. Choosing not to simulate a Witcher 2 save will apply a specific set of choices, as set by the game’s developers.

You can skip The Witcher 1 and 2 The Witcher 1 and 2 aren’t necessary in the slightest. This isn’t to say they’re not good games, but in order to start anew with its own canon separate from the books, CD Projekt Red gave Geralt amnesia at the beginning of the first game.
Is Witcher 1 or 2 better?
I enjoyed Witcher 1 better actually. Once it clicked I enjoyed the rhythmatic tactical combat more than the roll fest of Witcher 2 (that just isn’t how a witcher fights) and the game is so much more atmospheric and immersive. Witcher 2 does have shinier graphics and better voice acting though.
Should I kill Radovid?
Killing Radovid is no brainer. He is a direct threat to Triss, Yen and many other characters you meet in the story. I forgot to do the reason of state quest before the isle of mists so I ended up letting Radovid live.
Should I kill Letho?
You can either kill Letho or let him live. You don’t gain anything by killing him though, but you can have “the final battle” which is compulsory for many games. If you spare him, then as the journal says his fate is “story for another time”.
Why did geralt refuse Voorhis?
The reason Geralt won’t let Voorhis come is because he’ll then try to take Ciri.
