Azula heard the conversation and told Zuko, and then Ursa heard them talking asked what they were talking about. She went to Ozai and asked how she could prevent Zuko’s death. He said that if Azulon died, there would be no promise and no death. So she made a tasteless colorless poison that killed Azulon.
