What can we say about this wonderful horse who has been a
dream come true for us?! He has exceeded our expectations, and we
absolutely love him. We are offering Union for sale only because we are
getting out of the "business" and back to a true hobby. He is too geat a
horse to be just a hobby stallion. His history is well known as being the
second highest selling quarter horse stallion at the Wiescamp Dispersal
Sale. Hank had him on "stallion row," and it is well-known that Hank never sold any sons of Skippers Ring while he was alive. We believe he would have sold much higher if he had not been the #4 horse to go into the sale ring, but we are grateful that we have had the opportunity to have him. His 10 yearlings that sold in the sale also sold for the highest average with ST UNION going for $10,000 as a yearling. His son ST UNION has gone on to prove himself in the show ring and as a wonderful stud horse himself. Union is the classic Wiescamp horse, and he actually looks like the painting called "One of Hank's." He is just under 15 hands tall and is very muscular and heavy boned. He has the big jaws, short head, fox ears,and big beautiful eyes. He is the dark golden palomino color with white stockings and wide blaze. He has been very consistent in producing lots of chrome on his babies with 50-70% palomino.
Union has a wonderful disposition, and is so easy to handle that we
used him to tease mares. He has been hand bred, pasture bred and collected for artificial insemination without difficulty. His fertility has been
exceptional. His semen ships well and has good integrity for AI. We have
not had any problem getting mares in foal by whatever method we chose.
He has been in great health and has had no serious injuries. He is
easy to keep in a stall, but he loves being in the pasture with the mares as
well. He accepts mares being introduced into the pasture at any time.
I could go on and on....Union is such a wonderful horse. We will
definitely want to be able to breed to him in the future. He is a great
example of Hank Wiescamp's years of excellent breeding.....he's the cream of
the crop.
